László Kovács is a Professor at the University of Public Service and a professional soldier. For more than twenty-five years, he has been engaged in electronic warfare, information operations, and cyber warfare. In addition to teaching, he conducts research in the fields of cyber warfare, information terrorism, and the protection of critical information infrastructures. In September 2020, he was awarded the title Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for his dissertation on cybersecurity strategies. Between 2019 and 2023, he served first as Cyber Defence Inspector at the Command of the Hungarian Defence Forces, and later as Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces Cyber Operations Command. As a military leader, his primary responsibility was to direct the cyber defence and cyber operations of the Hungarian Defence Forces, as well as to develop its organizations. He is currently Vice-Rector for Science at the University of Public Service, Head of the Doctoral School of Military Sciences, and Director of the Cybersecurity Research Institute at the Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies.
